Trade Your DMV Titled Item

Have something to trade of value toward your new home ?

If it has a DMV title, we will most likely accept it toward down payment as we have done for years. We know of no other MI brokerage that has the dual licensing required to assist you with such a transaction.

Trade it now at Blue Book Trade-In Value or more:


  • We accept trades at kbb.com trade in value.
  • Factory unmodified – i.e., no lowered, modified engines/exhaust/paint, or otherwise altered vehicles.
  • Minor blemishes ok,  no damaged interiors, rust holes, dents, worn out tires, etc.
  • Must run out, function and have been maintained, no dead or leaking engines, scraping brakes, bad drive lines, etc.
  • Bring to our office with all your repair history documents and title, or email at least 10 photos – e.g.: engine, trunk, underside, front, rear, sides, and all seats & doors, and VIN.
  • Any excess of value over our brokerage fee may be paid out at close of escrow – agreement & $500 retainer (applied at closing) required.

To be accepted as Blue Book Private Party “Good” Value:


  1. Must be no more than 50% of our brokerage fee (our fee is typically 3% of home price).
  2. Bring your vehicle with title for inspection/ test drive: Must be mechanically up to date, all options must work and be unmodified from factory, tires minimum 50% tread left. We deduct to recondition any of these items.
  3. Vehicle must be detailed: wash the carpets & seats, detail the trunk & engine areas. Undetailed, deduct min. $100
  4. Must have recently completed these basic reconditioning items: brakes , fresh oil/filter, accessory belts, and timing belt replacement. Deduct accordingly if not completed in last 250 miles.

To be accepted at your value:


Up to a maximum of 50% of our brokerage fee (our fee is typically 3% of home price).  Any additional amount subject to case by case evaluation/negotiation.
